뱃노래굿은 굿당에 매어놓았던 용선을 내려 앞뒤로 흔들면서 노래하는 굿이다.

용선은 굿당에 초대받아 온 신이 굿이 모두 끝난 후 다시 신의 공간으로 돌아갈 때 사용되는 이동 수단이라고 믿기 때문이다.

뱃노래굿은 각 가정의 안과태평을 기원하는 굿이다.
