안녕하십니까? 초여름의 푸르름 속에 ‘2026 강릉단오제’가 8일간의 여정을 성황리에 마무리하였습니다. 축제의 시작부터 마지막 순간까지 한결같은 성원과 온기를 보태어 주신 강릉 시민 여러분과 전국의 관람객 여러분께 고개 숙여 깊은 감사의 인사를 올립니다. 올해 강릉단오제는 "풀리니, 단오다"라는 주제 아래 막을 올렸습니다. 저마다 바쁜 걸음 속에 갇혀 있던 일상의 피로와 마음의 매듭들을 잠시 내려놓고, 편안하게 풀어내는 치유의 공간이 되기를 소망하며 정성껏 준비하였습니다. 축제 기간 동안 우리는 진정한 ‘풀림’을 목격했습니다. 신명 나는 가락에 맞춰 함께 어깨춤을 추고, 서로의 무사안녕을 빌어주는 간절한 손길 속에서 함께 위로받고 행복했습니다. 계층의 구분도, 세대의 격차도 없이 한마당에서 슬픔은 덜고 기쁨은 온전히 나누는 것— 이것이야말로 천년을 흔들림 없이 이어온 강릉단오제의 위대한 정신이자 우리 본연의 가치임을 다시 한 번 되새깁니다. 언제나 그렇듯 강릉단오제의 성공적인 개최는 축제장 구석구석을 안전하게 밝혀주신 자원봉사자 여러분의 헌신, 밤낮없이 지원을 아끼지 않으신 유관기관 관계자 여러분의 땀방울이 있었기에 가능했습니다. 무엇보다 성숙한 시민의식으로 축제를 온전히 완성해 주신 관람객 여러분이 계셨기에, 올해 역시 평화롭고 풍요로운 축제를 치러낼 수 있었습니다. 강릉단오제를 통해 얻은 치유와 화합의 에너지가 여러분의 일상을 지탱하는 단단한 버팀목이 되기를 바랍니다. 보내주신 과분한 사랑을 소중히 마음에 새겨, 내년 초여름에는 한층 더 깊어진 신명과 넉넉한 품으로 여러분을 맞이하겠습니다. 가정과 일터에 늘 건강과 평안이 함께하시기를 빕니다. 감사합니다.

Dear Citizens of Gangneung and Visitors from Across Korea,

As the fresh greenery of early summer reaches its peak, the 2026 Gangneung Danoje Festival has successfully concluded its eight-day journey. We extend our deepest gratitude to the citizens of Gangneung and to all visitors from across the country for your unwavering support and warm encouragement from the opening day to the festival’s final moments.

This year's festival was held under the theme "Unfolding into Dano." Through this theme, we hoped to create a place of healing where people could set aside the fatigue and burdens of everyday life, loosen the knots in their hearts, and find comfort and renewal.

Throughout the festival, we witnessed the true meaning of unfolding. People danced together to the lively rhythms, shared heartfelt prayers for one another's well-being, and found comfort and joy in each other's company. Regardless of age, background, or social status, everyone gathered as one community—letting go of sorrow and embracing happiness together. Once again, this reminded us that such unity and harmony are the enduring spirit of the Gangneung Danoje Festival, a tradition that has been faithfully preserved for more than a thousand years.

As always, the success of the festival would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, who worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and smooth operation of every corner of the festival grounds, and the unwavering support of our partner organizations and public agencies. Above all, it was made possible by the maturity, kindness, and cooperation of every visitor, whose consideration for others allowed us to celebrate another peaceful and joyful festival together.

We sincerely hope that the healing, harmony, and positive energy you experienced through the Gangneung Danoje Festival will continue to support and inspire you in your daily lives.
